My Name Is Joe Coffee Co. is located in a vintage Airstream Trailer in downtown Austin and serves exceptional coffee and innovative takes on healthy, house-made cuisine. Owned and operated by two well-known fixtures of the Austin hospitality scene, William Ball, of Garage Cocktail Bar and award-winning chef Philip Speer, previously a partner with Uchi Restaurant Group, My Name Is Joe represents Ball’s and Speer’s humble yet meaningful return to the hospitality industry after both struggled mightily with alcohol and drug dependency. As part of Ball and Speer’s commitment to recovery, 1.2 percent of sales from My Name Is Joe will support the Comfort Café, which funds and employs residents in Serenity Star Recovery. Anchored by a traditional espresso program created by renown coffee consultant Tyler Wells, Speer's food menu highlights include almond-butter toast with apple jam and miso butterscotch; brown rice porridge served with a soft poached egg, scallions, house-made kimchee and bulgogi tofu, to name a few.
