Paula Biehler knows the restaurant scene. She eats out five nights a week. While her more than two decades of business and marketing experience have positioned her as a results-driven media strategist, she’s distinguished by her straightforward approach, personalized service and devotion to benefit every client.
Biehler founded her PR business in 1999, after identifying a gap in the Austin market for a full-service communications and media agency specializing in hospitality. Within three years, the Austin American-Statesman noted Biehler as a key player in the delivery of national media attention to the burgeoning Austin dining scene.
Biehler represented the first three chefs in Austin who garnered Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef awards. She has represented more than one hundred restaurants, hotels and bars, the Austin-based Whole Foods Market corporate, six food-related festivals and a variety of food products. She represented Akaushi Beef, featured on the cover of Texas Monthly in the form of a giant rib eye, and hosted Anthony Bourdain upon his first arrival to Austin. E! News filmed from her client’s doorstep for the duration of two SXSW festivals, and she convinced a producer for Andrew Zimmern to let Rainey Street’s Bridget Dunlap co-host his Austin feature. Biehler garnered a six-page feature in Bon Appétit on the “rebirth” of Jeffrey’s, Austin’s most beloved fine-dining restaurant. The crazy success of the opening of Red Ash garnered a full page in Texas Monthly and Hudson’s on the Bend’s reopening a feature in Food & Wine Magazine. And that’s just traditional media.
As the media landscape changed and the addition of social media become relevant, Biehler’s social media influencer network grew, providing access to over 4 million followers in Austin alone, strategically reaching target demographics for each client through social and online marketing tactics.
This, combined with her longtime affiliations with hospitality and culinary groups, nonprofits, business and civic organizations, and professional associations, as well as her alliances with many of Austin’s key influencers and decision makers, has positioned Biehler as the go-to contact for the hospitality industry in the Central Texas region.
